Japanese Ketchup
I use this stuff like it was ketchup, honestly. It goes with everything. Hoisin is awesome on chinese food, thai food, vietnamese food, its good with hamburgers, fries, and even with steak instead of steak sauce. Hoisin is sweet, and salty and has this certain kick to it that makes it unique amoung condiments. The first time i ever saw it used was when i was watching PBS Yan Can Cook, and he busted out the Lee Kum Kee bottle and i was mesmerized with its rich brown color, and Yan Can do no wrong with me!!!!

Yum!
These noodles remind me of home! I'm originally from California where it's fairly easy to find all types of Asian food, but now that I live in Wisconsin, I'm realizing that those days are over. So I was pretty psyched when these noodles popped up on the Amazon goldbox deal a week ago. They are really spicy and go great with napa cabbage, bean sprouts, and any other veggies you want. I tried them with egg earlier tonight after reading one of the other reviews on amazon, and it was amazing! Highly recommended for people who love spicy food, but also recommended for those (like me) who don't... just add half the seasoning packet!
No Ordinary Ramen
This Ramen is the best Ramen in the world. It is very spicy and has great flavor. It is so much better than the $.10 Ramen you find in your avg. grocery store. Authentic Korean ramen. Add some egg to it, and you'll be in Ramen Heaven. So so good.

Delicious little snack!
If you can wrap your head around eating 'seaweed' you will LOVE these! They are a really tasty, low calorie, healthy little snack to have and can keep you from binging on the first unhealthy fattening thing you see when all you need is a taste of something.

I'm a sushi eater and I really love Wasabi. The only thing that kept me from giving this a 5 star rating is that this particular variety is "wasabi flavored". When I read carefully it looks like they use "mustard" and flavorings to immitate wasabi. If you like wasabi you might want the real stuff!
Great taste and value!
Until I discovered this brand of seaweed snack on Amazon, I had been paying $1 for each pack ON SALE at my local grocery co-op. Now that I've discovered these, I plan to keep ordering them for this lower price. The flavor is great; a salty, crunchy snack with barely any calories. Don't make the mistake of judging a book by its cover and give this product a try. It may not look as appealing as potato chips, but the flavor may take you by surprise.

Awesome funky chips
I got these chips during one of my exertions into my local Asian food store and have continued to purchase them as they were a huge hit in my family. The crunchy corn twists have just a hint of sweetness to add a delightful interest to this fast food experience. No overwhelming flavors, and I couldn't detect a distinct honey flavor - but I didn't miss it either. Highly recommended.
They Taste Like.....
I will keep this short. I love these things. They taste exactly like Frosted Flakes cereal but in a twisty form. You probably could break these up and put them in milk and eat them for breakfast just like frosted flakes. The Taste is that similar.

Very delicious, but very high in sodium
I am a ramen lover and have tried hundreds of varieties over the years, including my time in Japan, the land of endless ramen varieties. Nong Shim (Korean) is a long-time favorite and among the top 3 makers on my list. Their noodles are heartier and more delicious than everybody else's, mostly because they use better ingredients. The texture is firmer and more elastic, even retaining their chewy mouth-feel over time, unlike other noodles that quickly become mushy. If you're used to bargain basement brands like the NISSIN TOP RAMEN, do yourself a favor and try a Nong Shim.

Among the higher quality ingredients that Nong Shim puts in here are ginger and shrimp extracts, beef and pork bone stock, and beef tallow. Beef tallow is the same stuff that makes McDonald's french fries so tasty.

i'm surprised reading the 2 reviews saying there's no kimchi but the box of kimchi noodles i ordered does have bits of kimchi but they're small and few. I've tried quite a number of instant noodles but this is the ONLY one that i actually would finish the broth. the other brands i just ate the noodles.

Best spicy noodle on the market
Although this noodle is the "default" according to my Korean friend, I believe it is the best spicy noodle on the market. It is VERY spicy for those that are not accustomed to spicy food. If you have not tried this noodle before, I'd recommend using only half the chili powder packet. Then adjust as necessary for later meals. I've been eating this noodle for years and years. The recipe that I normally use is:

1 egg
Chinese green onions (chopped)
lemon juice
sesame oil

Bring water to a boil with the noodle in a pot. Then pour out the water and run cold water over the noodle. This cleans the noodles of the materials left over from the manufacturing process. Set noodle aside. Then bring filtered water to a boil with both ingredient packets. It takes several minutes for the dried vegetables to hydrate. Put noodles back in. Add 3-4 drops of lemon juice and 1-2 drops of sesame oil. Add the green onions. Stir. Break the egg over the top of the noodles...
Spicy!
If you enjoy spicy foods, I think you will greatly enjoy these noodles. Honestly the most delicious instant noodles I've ever tasted. I've been a fan ever since I first discovered them about 7 years ago, and I'm glad I've finally found a place to easily buy them from. I hope Amazon continues to stock Shin Ramyun for spicy food lovers to enjoy.

Can't cook Japanese without it
The basic stock for 1,000s of Japanese recipes, dashi is absolutely essential for anyone wanting to cook authentic Japanese cuisine. As famous chef Shizuo Tsuji once said " "many substitutes for dashi are possible, but without dashi, dishes are merely a la japonaise and lack the authentic flavor".

Dashi can be made pretty easily from scratch, boiling some kombu or katsuobushi shavings, but you often make far more than you need for the particular recipe, and it can be a pain to spend all that time boiling. Instant dashi does the trick just fine, and almost no one will notice the substitution. This kind here, "Hon Dashi" (meaing "Real Dashi"), is the cream of the crop of instant substitutes. Made by the company Ajinomoto, Hon Dashi is absolutely brimming with umami, the fifth basic flavor found in Asian cooking. Hon Dashi is made from katsuobushi shavings, so it is a basic fish stock and not suitable for vegans, who would probably want to make their own kombu stock...
Ajinomoto Hon Dashi
I buy this locally in a much larger box but it is the same product. This product is just as good as making your own, which I did for years before finding it. The larger box has 1,000 servings but that is for a weak dashi so I use double the granules. For this product with the 3 packets, just add them into a small jar and use 1 ts per cup hot water (adjust to your tastes). That adjustment is why it says '3 to 6 cups'. Also, this product stores with no loss in flavor in a sealed container for years. I actually have some in a salt shaker (with rice to keep it dry) and use it commonly as a flavor boost to vegetables (green ones especially work well with it).

This is actually a good starter size box. For those not sure what to do with it, a sample recipe:

3 cups made up dashi (1 packet)- taste and add water if you wish it weaker.
1 packet Udon noodles (may use cooked spagetti) appx 1.25 cups volume

Nice change of pace
I have my kitchen stocked with all kinds of ramen/ramyuns and this is a nice change of pace when I want noodles without the broth. I usually mix the sauce components in the bowl I'm going to be eating out of and add a few tablespoons of the liquid I used to boil the noodles in to it. Just have to add the drained noodles and mix. I only use about three tablespoons of water to get the sauce the consistency I like, but you can add more/less depending on how you like it. This noodle is traditionally eaten with a side of slices of pickled radish (the yellow stuff you might find at your asian grocer). If you don't have pickled radish, you might enjoy it with a side of sliced cucumbers or other fresh vegetable because the sauce might be kind of heavy. I find this sold at my store for $5.99 per pack of five so the price on Amazon is not bad.
And now for something different... (and oily)
A longtime fan of Nong Shim's excellent and popular spicy Nong Shim Shin Noodle Ramyun and Nong Shim Kimchi Noodle Ramyun, I was curious to try something different. And different it is. This is the first Nong Shim product I didn't take a liking to right away.

Chapagetti is "chajang" + "spaghetti", chajang myun (noodle) being a Korean interpretation of a Chinese dish. Chajang literally means "fried sauce". It's a thick, black, soybean paste that's slightly sweet. For the instant version, Nong Shim replaced the paste with a mix-in powder. The first bite is the hardest....and then addicted!
At age 62 looking to increase my iodine intake to support thyroid health, I ordered these Nori snacks based on other reviews. Once delivered, the first bite was the hardest---I don't have a problem with fish oil or cod liver oil, but Nori is seaweed (yuck or so I thought). My surprise. I love these low carbohydrate salty-sesame-y little crips so much I now have them sent on the automatic shipment plan at quite a savings especially with Prime shipping.

And this Sea's Gift brand with just the kim, sea salt, and sesame oil is the best tasting of all the brands I have subsequently bought and then did a side-by-side taste test. All of the other brands bought locally at the Korean grocery store had been processed with corn oil, a no-no for me. And I am now eating seaweed soup and seaweed salad (from the local Korean grocery) that are delicious--all because of the introduction to this product.

That first bite, though, is the hardest. So glad I did it.

Home made Kim Chee; Noh of Hawaii tastes great and easy to make.
I really enjoyed my first batch of Kim Chee using Noh of Hawaii Kim Chee Mix. It comes with instructions. I watched some youtube videos of others making Kim Chee which were helpful.

I used one Napa Cabbage, half a cucumber (peeled) and half a bunch of green onions with one package mix; soaked for 8 hours at least in brine. I sliced everything into bite sized amounts.

Then I rinsed the produce and drained it. I mixed up the mix with water and poured it onto my cut produce. It covered everything with with the sauce.

I let it sit and ferment. I like the flavor very much. It is hot and spicy; just enough to be delightful.

I already have a second batch fermenting now.

September.24.2011 update:
I've really enjoyed Kim Chee made with the Noh of Hawaii seasoning mix. I've experimented with adding more produce and now I make larger batches of Kim Chee so that I need to use two packages of Kim Chee for the following:

The good:
-product has the basic ingredients needed for kimchi seasoning.
-One bag will take care of one large kimchi cabbage(I can't remember the actual name but its the huge leafy green traditionally used for this).
-Just add water & a little chopping action
-after day 3, it starts to smell and taste like the real deal (I followed the direction except for the salt water bath.. I just salted each leaf & let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinsed. I also added more mix from another bag cause I wanted to be sure the flavor would not be watered down.)
-It wont win any taste awards but it gets the job done if your tight on money & time (college students rejoice!)

The bad:

- Your not working with fresh herbs so the finished kimchi "red stuff" is watery rather than thick & rich red (I guess because you are working with a fine powder & only "just enough" to do one batch).

Hint of Spice
The Hot and Spicy variety is the best. It has just a little spiciness, the right amount of salt and shrimp taste. They are very good. If you have a Krogers, they have a shrimp cracker as well made in the U.S. It has the same crunchy texture, but the S. Korean ones have the spice which adds more flavor. Don't let it fool you into thinking they're hot. I don't like very spicy foods and these aren't even close to being truly spicy. They must have saved the real spicy ones for the Koreans. Maybe they didn't want to kill us. lol.

I grew up with this
It taste great. It's like cheeseball kind of texture with banana flavor instead of cheese.
I hate cheese, and in USA there are like more than 80% snacks are with cheese flavor.
So this is great.
But!!
When I opened the bag, it tasted a bit old.
I checked the date, I only have less than a month to finish the whole box.
Usually snacks like this don't go bad for a long time, not sure exactly how long, but mostly almost a year or a bit less than a year.
But seeing the date saying that I only have less than a month, tells me how long Amazon had this in their warehouse.
And the fact that I can actually tell the difference in taste is bad. My husband didn't notice but I'm kinda really really great at tasting stuff.
Banana Cheetohs are YUM!
We lived in Korea for two years and these were our FAVORITE snack of all time. We'd buy them at the 7-11 (really!) just beyond the gate of our housing complex. They're sweet, but not too sweet and have the consistency of cheetoh puffs. They can be addictive, though. You'll find your bag empty long before you're done eating them. On the Korean economy, they cost between 700w and 1100w (so under a dollar) per bag, but they're worth the bit more you'd pay to have them shipped from a friend.

The secret to classic Thai taste
Golden Mountain Sauce is the secret ingredient that makes Thai dishes come alive. You may be able to find it in Asian food stores by the Thai fish sauce. You can also order it from one of the Asian gourmet or grocery vendors at Amazon.com. Very good sauce but <$2 at local Asian stores
I almost always love Amazon's price but almost thirteen bucks a bottle....that's outrageous! I paid less than two bucks at local Asian stores in DC metro area. I use this sauce in stir fried vegetables with or without meat, fried rice or noodles and very good all in one sauce. I like Golden Mountain more than Meggie brand in both price and taste.

good seaweed but somewhat messy to eat
If you like dried seaweed, you will probably like this. Food is highly subjective, so I'll limit this review to things that might not be obvious from the item description. It is slightly sweet (about the same as barbeque potato chips) and has sesame seeds mixed in. The packages contain shredded seaweed strips which are similar in size to cross-cut shredded paper; this should not be problematic to eat at home but if you want something to snack on while driving, traveling, etc., I would recommend the salty (no sugar) version which comes in 3inx1.5in sheets.
Deliciously nutritious
Sea's Gift truly is a gift. Being vegan, I am always on the look out for tasty, nutitious, easy to eat snacks. Sea's Gift has become a staple for lunch. I toss it into steamed rice and vegies or, my favorite, "Avacado Roll Salad." Take one pouch of Sea's Gift, green onion, cucumber, seasoned rice, and avocado. Just mix it together and I swear it's the absolute best salad ever!
And, my kids eat it as a snack straight up!

good for busy days
Seafood ramen... I love having these sodium/msg-packed instant noodles every once in awhile when I'm too lazy to make lunch or dinner. I don't know if you'd actually call these "seafood" flavored, though there are little dried fish cakes and plenty of seaweed in them, but they are somehow indescribably good. I actually like the original flavor better, but since these were cheaper, I went with it.

I've seen these with cheaper prices at asian supermarkets when it's on sale, but if you "subscribe" to this on amazon, it's worth an extra dollar or two not to make a trip to the market. When I cook these, I usually add an egg, some veggies, and leftover meat (or whatever is in the fridge). The seafood flavor packet is strong so it adds lots of flavor to everything else.

When I got these delivered, none of my ramen were crushed, so it really depends on how carefully your delivery company treats the boxes. Anyway, I'd suggest buying one packet at a store first to try it...
This one is my favorite!
I love this version of Seafood Ramyun. It's not too spicy like the other brand that Amazon also carries..It tastes really, really good...so good that I crave for it almost eveyday...nuff said.

The Best!
You simply can't make real Ma Po Tofu without this sauce. It's absolutely fantastic, the #1 best. Twenty years ago, I would scour Chinatown and Japantown for this stuff, and buy every jar I could find. Now it's much easier to locate, but I still tend to stock up because it's just that precious.

This is wonderful sauce for several delicious stir-fry dishes in Fuschia Dunlop's Land Of Plenty Sichuan cookbook. Added to any stir-fry, and fried for 30 seconds in the oil, it gives a wonderful taste, even with no other spices added. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

Great Snack Food
I have had these crackers several times throughout the years. I bought them from amazon.com because they offered them in bulk. I didn't realize that the bags were full size bags. It's not a terrible thing, it just means that I have more to eat. I like the way the taste is subtle and not cheapened with strong artificial tastes. I can see where some people may be coming from with saying they're bland, but I think that they definitely have a taste and it's a good taste at that. It does take eating a few crackers before you really get the full effects of the taste. I would probably say that people should order these if they really like them or often host parties or whatnot where people will consume them. Otherwise, it's a lot for a single person. That's not really a bad thing, but it is something to be aware of.
Good companion with my term papers
These tasty shrimp crackers remind me of hometown crackers--they taste exacly the same, yummy!

That's why I always have them when fighting with my term papers.

Great alternative.
This is my go-to brand and flavor, since I can't find any Ichiban ramen on Subscribe and Save. One of the 'top-drawer' choices of ramen.
My favorite spicy Korean "instant" noodles
I quote the word "instant" because, to the uninitiated, it might come as a shock that you actually have to boil the noodles rather than simply soak them in boiling hot water. The preparation time is still very quick, and it's definitely worth it.

These noodles are far thicker and chewier than your standard supermarket Top Ramen noodles. They also come with a spice package and a dry ingredients packet that contains bits of seaweed, mushrooms, and carrots.

I usually only put in about 3/4 of the spice package and add extra ingredients like nappa cabbage, shrimp, scallops, green onions, mung bean sprouts, and/or an egg. Kimchi also goes really well with these noodles.

The bulk price that Amazon offers is an excellent deal, especially for people who don't have access to Asian supermarkets. It's the perfect food to have for when you want a quick and flavorful meal.

I was trying to tell my 91 year old auntie who lives in the desert near 29 Palms about "Bubble tea" She just didn't get it. One day we were shopping in the other desert near Palm Springs and I saw a stand up sign for "bubble tea" at the food court. We walked the entire length of the shopping mall so I could buy her a bubble tea, and the STAND WAS CLOSED !! When I saw that Amazon (my favorite place) had bubble tea kits, I ordered one of each. I sent the kits to my sister in Desert Hot Springs so she could make and take the bubble tea to Aunt Ruth. Thank you for allowing me to fulfill another item on her bucket list !!

My favorite Asian chips!
First time I tried these was when a friend brought them back from shopping in the city's Chinatown. She had bought them mainly because I love octopus and the little character on the bag is so cute. Turned out I ended up loving the chip itself too!

These tako chips are rather thick and crunchy (though not hard) and aren't much similar to a potato chip. They are very light and have a pleasant texture. The chips are a rather cute fish shape as well.

Of course, the most important thing is the flavor. It's very light and not super "in-your-face." When you eat one, it's not like you're being slapped in the face with seafood. That's not to say someone who hates seafood would like them, but it's not too strong and overpowering. The flavor is very delicious, and they are absolutely my favorite seafood flavored snack food I've had.

It's like a yummy cross between funyuns and shrimp chips. I love them. I'd recommend to anyone who likes these flavors.

oh ps. A serving size is 1oz. (which feels like your eating waay more because of the shape and texture.) - half of this medium sized bag. The serving size only has 140 calories. So while I was reading the package.. Honestly not caring at the time REALLY HOW many calories was in here I was like.. F serving sizes lol I want it all. 280C.. is ok :) lol I could have a bunch of yummy chips.. or a can of pop. RATHER HAVE MY TUMMY FULL AND CHEW ON MY CALORIES THAN DRINK A CAN OF SYRUP. (although psst. I recommend "the switch" sparkling fruit juice. I got my family hooked, and I'm happy to be rid of said "syrup". :D

No Complaints
I'm making perfect Vietnamese style coffee with no complaints! Do not screw the middle section down just place it on top. It took me maybe 3 tries to get it just right but it works perfectly.
Works as intended
These Vietnamese coffee filters work well and make good coffee. I use them 3-5 times a week and run them through the dishwasher with no problem. The only thing I didn't like is that they come with a paper label glued to the side and it is almost impossible to remove. I had to use Goo-Gone several times to get all of the glue residue off the sides.

These are ok.
Crunchy. Came packaged well. If you are thinking they are going to be like FunYuns, you would be wrong. They are VERY mild flavored. They are ok, but nothing I would crave for sure.
Funyuns? Certainly no but BETTER
To those who believe these Onion Rings doesn't have enough 'FLAVOR'; that flavor is what we call sodium.
Want to eat 20 bag of high sodium funyuns? Be my guest. In my opinion, these bring the subtle balance between
highly saturated flavor with 150% dosage of sodium in one bag vs more decent amount of sodium with just enough flavor
to taste it. Yes, bringing the health factor in the chips section is hypocritical but in the end everything counts right?

Bottom line is, you will like these alot! Give it a try and you will more or less love them!
